Chapter Nine

Jonas

She was asleep in his arms, finally having fallen asleep after accepting he wasn’t going to take her virginity. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to. With her lying naked against his naked body, it took all his self-control not to accept what she so clearly offered. He wanted it too, but he didn’t want to rush her into anything she might regret. He thought they should have more time to build to that point, and she’d accepted that grudgingly.

Still holding her, yet unable to sleep, he was entranced by a beam of light coming through the partially closed curtain that highlighted the creamy expanse of skin on her chest. He wanted to bend his head and nuzzle it, but he didn’t want to wake her. He also wasn’t confident he could control himself if he did. With that in mind, he pulled her a little closer and closed his eyes, determined to find sleep.
